Ballet camp June 2011

Louise was in ballet/princess camp all of last week and had a final performance this past Friday to show us all she had learned.  I think she got a little overwhelmed.  In case you can't find her, she's the one sitting Indian style with her arms crossed (at times saying "I don't want to").  Pictures are first...video is at the bottom.

Bruce 8 months old

OK, no jokes...I know I'm not the best at updating this blog.  Bruce is 8 months old today.  He was standing up in his crib when I went in to get him after his nap.  He's a happy boy.

Louise - 20 months

OK, so it's been a few months (maybe 9) since I've updated the blog. I'm just going to use it for videos...so here's one from yesterday and then from our big snow in Jan (Kezia, don't laugh).

Trip to Ponte Vedra

We went to Ponte Vedra with Anna and Zach this past weekend for Memorial Day and had a wonderful time. Louise had a big time! This was her first trip to the beach and included several mouthfuls of sand. You would think being at the beach for the first time would have been the main attraction, but it really turned out to be the floor to ceiling mirrors in the den of Anna's condo. Louise could not have been happier! You can see for yourself in the first video below. The second one is of her playing in the sand. And then click on the 3rd picture below to see all the pictures from the weekend.

Louise's first Easter

Louise had a wonderful first Easter. We went to an Easter egg hunt yesterday at church where she fiercely hunted for the eggs =) She also got to see the Easter Bunny! We then had church this morning followed by an eventful day watching the Masters. Here are pictures from the weekend.

9 month check up

Louise had her 9 month check up on Friday. She was 20 1/2 lbs (75th percentile) and 29 1/2 inches long (>95th percentile). She did not weigh quite as much as I thought, but is growing well according to the doctor. She did not have any shots...only a toe prick to test her iron, which was in the normal range.

We went to the park today. It was a beautiful day in Atlanta. She really enjoyed being there...so many people to watch. Here's a short video.

Visit from Gogga and Granddaddy

Anna and Bruce came to visit this past weekend. Who knew it was going to snow 3-4 inches? We had a nice time playing in the snow. Winnie loved it!

Louise says "hi"

Louise said her first word! OK, maybe it's a stretch, but it's still really cute.

Here are a couple recent videos...she's 8 months now!

Trip to Blowing Rock - Jan 16-19

We went to Blowing Rock for MLK weekend with the Richardson side of the family. We had 16 people in one house and I think it was a success. We went skiing while we were there...a first for many of us. Cole really did outstanding. He had never skied before and by the end of the last day he was on the blacks! How many people can say that? I did not take that many pictures, but here's a couple.

Louise's first Christmas

I've fallen behind again...sorry. We had a great Christmas in Wilmington and Elizabeth City. On our way back to Atlanta we stopped in Grandfather Mountain and visited with Sammy/Jane, Lee/Amy, Elizabeth/John/Jack, and Grant/Kathleen. It was so good to see old friends. Here are some pictures from all of those visits.

Christmas visit with The Turners

We went by Robert and Kelly's to visit with them and their 2 girls, Walker and Cate. Here's a picture of Robert, Douglas, Louise, and Cate. Wow, they've come a long way since their days at the Phi Delt house...

Baptism - Dec 7

Louise was baptized at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church on December 7. We were very fortunate to have Mom/Steve, Monaca/Jerry/Cole/Tanner, Dad/Tina/Alex, Anna/Bruce, and Elizabeth/John. It meant so much to have all of you there! Here is a link to some pictures from the weekend. Some of them are blurry because we could not use a flash inside the Santuary.

On another note, Louise had her 6 month check up yesterday. Let's just say that we don't have to worry about her weight anymore. She's 17 lbs (75th percentile) and 28 inches (>95th percentile).

We had a nice visit in Elizabeth City over Thanksgiving. Here is a video from cousin Bess. Eliza also performed for us, but it was too big to post.

A video from yesterday

Here is a video we took yesterday. She is getting very active!

OK, I think I'm done. Whew! That was a lot to update.

Wilmington

I went to Wilmington this past weekend with Louise while Douglas and Winnie stayed in Atlanta. Louise couldn't have been any better in the car. Well, except for that dirty diaper 1 hour from Atlanta on our way back.
She enjoyed seeing her cousins, Cole and Tanner and the rest of the family.
This bottom picture is Louise and Jackie. I know she likes to look at the blog, so I thought I would put her picture up.

Rice Cereal

Louise had her first taste of rice cereal last week. She is beginning to like it more and more each time despite her reaction in this picture!

Louise's first halloween

We went to Cashiers with Stephanie Thomas, Austin Stephens, Alden and Carter Potts, and Celia and Calvin O'Keeffe Halloween weekend. We dressed Louise up as a little chick.

On another note, congratulations to Austin and Stephanie who got engaged this past weekend (11/7)!

Neighborhood Fall Festival

We had our neighborhood fall festival at the end of October. Is was pretty uneventful, but we did get to spend some time with Robert, Kelly, Walker, and Cate Turner. Here's a picture of Louise and Cate (Douglas's goddaughter).
